look for connectors, like Smarter.JDE

or via ODBC, but JDE data stucture's names usually are so difficult for newbi )

You can connect to the JDE Database by using ODBC.

JDE is pointing to Oracle, do I need any connector for this or I can simply use Connect option by selecting ODBC and providing server details to connect with database?

Hi Margarita,

Unfortunately I cannot test by connecting Qlikview with JDE at this moment as there is no environment in place and I will be joining assignment soon which involves JDE , so as of now I just want to confirm can we follow same process for connecting Qlikview with JDE using ODBC driver as we normally do while connecting Qlikview with Oracle using ODBC , this is just for mentioning answer in interview on how to connect Qlikview with JDE

So, there are several methods to get datasets in QV from ERP JDE:

1) sql-query from qlikview through odbc/oledb to oracle-tables of JDE environment you need (DV, PY, PD..).

You need strong skills in JDE data dictionary to do it.

2) connect via special created by partners user-friendly QV-connectors.

3) connect through inner JDE business-logic connectivity tools as datasources.

You need strong skills in JDE business-logic to do it.
