Quarter over quarter sales analysis

Hi,

I need a Quarter over quarter sales on a rolling 3 quarter period and within a period regardless of a calendar selection for example selecting the 2nd month in Q1 will compare the 2de month in the preceding quarters.

how can i fix this chart because i have no clue with the months...

Still one question. How can you let this work over the years. So if you select nothing it takes the max year and compare the last 3 Quarter but if you select 2010-Q1 the preceeding quarters are 2009-Q4 and 2009-Q3.

Hi,

You need a MonthYear field and the expression should be something like this.

sum({$<MonthYear={

">$(#=monthname(max(MonthYear),-9))<=$(#=monthname(max(MonthYear)))"},Year=,Quarter=,Month=>} Sales)

attach is an exmaple of what you asked for

what i add to the file is

a monthyear filed which holds the start date of the month,

two variables who claculate the max monthYear and min to be showed

the i put a little set analysis in the expression

the secret to handle the change between years is using the addmonths function which can add or substract the desiered amount of months from a certien date
