Questions from someone not even being a newbie yet

Hi,

I'm a ordinary user, no IT-competence at all really. And I have a few questions before I dig deaper into our challenges...

I'm sorry if the questions are a bit on the stupid side... 🙂

Our data is not much, not many rows/items/transactions. But it's quite broad with more than three hundred columns of free text fields, text from predefined dropdownboxed and numbers such as dates and cost. It's a small database with information on our portfolio of projects...

1. If I have my data on a SQL-server is it easy for me (with some kind of an adress to the server) to get the data with datamodell up to Qlikview?? Can I more or less do it myself?

2. When I have the data in Qlikview in believe it easy to play with it... I want to sort and filter and make some extra dimensions as sum of costs and such. Maybe some tables/lists. Maybe some pivottables. Can I moreor less do that myself in Qlikview.

3. Can I export the tables/lists/diagrams manually with cut&paste into Powerpoint for instance?

Thanks, Patric

Hi,

answer is 3 * YES. Just give it a try - there are wizards in the script-editor, which will assist you to install an ODBC-connection and do the basic scripting.
