QvSAPSqlConnector Log folder growing very large

Hi there,

The below folder is growing very large and I just want to confirm a few things.

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\Custom Data\QvSAPSqlConnector\Log

I had a look in the config file the the log level is set to INFO.

I also see that it writes over 300 log entries every day, is that normal?

What is the recommended time frame to keep the logs? (I cant see that you would want to keep it longer than 2 months?)

Is there a setting to clear logs for a certain time period or does this have to happen manually?

I will appreciate any recommendations.

Regards

Johan

Hey Johan, first thing I am going to give you is the official Help link for that specific connector just so you can review that and be sure of what is available there.

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/connectors/Subsystems/SAP_Connectors_Help/Content/Connectors_SAP/Clients...

I agree with your thought process here, and they are just logs from every single launch of the Connector to pull data from your SAP system, so what you describe does sound normal if you are doing a lot of pulls.

Here is a separate link to something that is in the above post, but on this one it is just related to the log and settings:

I cannot see anything that clears out the logs, so the best thing I think would likely be a PowerShell script to do that every so often, and you could archive them off somewhere, but to your point, if everything is running fine, I cannot think of a reason to keep those logs, you really only care about the ones where you need them to troubleshoot a connection issue...  Hope this helps a little.

Regards,
Brett
