Read Cognos xml in Qlikview

Hi,

I have a xml from cognos report and am trying to import in Qlikview. But i dont see any changes happening in qlikview. I wanted to know will this possible to directly read cognos xml or is there any other way to read or we cant read at all?

Hi,

I don't think you could migrate cognos report directly in qlikview.

If you read an xml, you load this data in a qlikview data.

If you have an xml file then that xml file can be used as a data source in a QlikView load script.

It does not matter what produced the xml file, which in your case is Cognos.

This is not possible, cognos objects are different from qlikview ones.

In the cognos xml you could see how many-which objects, sheets, variables are used.

But you have to redo the report in qlik(cognos report does not contain data if I remember well, but only query and layout)

From other people's comments above they are implying that Cognos xml files, are Cognos report definitions and do not contain data per se.

I'll defer to those who have experience with Cognos.
