Report conversion from cognos/BO to Qlikview - Approach

Hi,

i am looking for some kind of framework/approach for converting the existing cognos/BO reports into Qlikview.

Few Questions to be answered:

1) Framework/approach/activities

2) How much effort it would take(Generally)

3) what kind of cost savings or other benefits it would give.

kindly suggest if anyone has worked on similar kind of requirement.

Hi Gaurav,

The approach of Qlikview development with respect to BO and cognos should be different.

1) Qlikview has a AQL technology for which we need to make sure our data model is designed properly. Once you data model is ready, you will be in position to query your entire data on a Qlik of a button.

2) Since its a  Inmemory technology, you have sure it follow qlikview best practices to avoid excess consumption of RAM.

3) I have not worked on BO or cognos but my experience with client who has either worked on BO or cognos concluded it takes half of the time.

4) ROI is high as compared to other BI tool.

But what i am looking here is not the comparison of development in Qlikview vis-a-vis Cognos or BO.

What i am looking for is the approach of conversion of existing Reports in Cognos and BO to Qlikview.
