Resources for learning how to compose chart expressions

I'm not wholly familiar with the syntax for building chart expressions (my background is not in programming), and I was wondering if anyone could suggest resources for learning how to create, eventually, sophisticated expressions. Finding both a primer and a more advanced resource would be great, as I'll need to learn and master this for a new position I'm taking on.

QlikTech offers courses on this: Designer I and Designer II. Contact your account rep for more details. Also, the help file (F1) is very good, as is the tutorial that is installed in the Program Files\QlikView folder.
