Restrict Total Width of Straight Table

Afternoon!

i would like to know how (if its even possible) to restrict the width of a straight table. i have a straight table with 3 fixed and 11 dynamic columns (all expressions) that the user can select/deselect (there will no doubt be more to add as the dashboard develops).

i want to restrict the table (either by limiting its overall width or limiting the amount of columns available to select) so that there can never be a horizontal scroll bar.

is such a thing possible?

using 11.2, SR3
