Hello All,
I have a requirement. In a report I have to create different bar charts for different countries. All the charts will have country as dimension and sales as measure. Also, there will be different list boxes for dimension Country. It should be like this:
Let's say, there's chart C1 with default value USA as dimension. There is one list box L1 for country beside the chart C1 and user can select other country as well.
There's another chart C2 with default value UK and another list box L2 for country beside the chart C2. User can select from this list box also. But Values from L2 should affect only chart C2 and not C1.
The measure and dimension for both charts are the same. Aslo the list boxes share the same dimension.
How to achieve this. Please help.
Thanks
Sounds like you need Comparative Analysis using Alternate States.
It is described in this Blog Post: Why Comparative Analysis
Use Alternate State concept, this will help you to achieve your requirement . Add alternate states of each of the charts like if chart CH1 and L1 create alternate state say like State A and use the same in this two chart so that whatever the selection made in this chart are restricted only to this two charts.
to create alternate chart go to> Documents Properties > General> add Alternate states
and then in the individual chart >chart properties > alternate states
May be use Alternate States here.
Thanks guys. I will create alternate states and will let you know.
Thanks.
Hello,
Alternate state worked. Thanks..
But there's one issue. There are other filters also in the tab page. Suppose there is one Date filter and user wants this to be a global filter for both the charts. Setting alternate state to the chart restricting other global filter values as well.
How to achieve this?
Thanks
