Retrieve only one value of a table in a text object

Hi,

I have loaded a table which is is not related to all the others. It contains definition of the indicator used in the document.

I would like to reuse these definition within text objects or in the "Help text" zone of graphics objects.

The dictionary (DICO) table looks like this :

ID               EXPLANATION

1                Mesures how much...

2                Average of people who...

3                Maximum value of...

...               ...

And in a text object I would for example like to display only the EXPLANATION of the ID n°2.

How can I display only on value ?

I imagine a function which could look like :

retrieve(table name, column reference, column to display)

ia : retrieve(DICO, ID=2, EXPLANATION)

Does it exists ?

Next challenge for you : is it possible to change the accesspoint portal language (from english to french).

I have read that it's not possible in QlikView 11, I just cannot believe it.
