Scrambling and set analysis

Hi everyone,

I've used an application to make market shares visible for a customer. I've done this by using set analysis, using the name of the customer.

For a demo, i have to scramble the data, including the fields which contain the customer's name. This is messing up my set analysis. Is there a way around this?

greetings,

Thijs

Hello Thijs,

I don't know whether you are using this feature already, but I'd give a try to the Cipher tab under the Document Properties. I've done that in version 9 some times without errors, just scrambling data. But of course it depends on the level of security you need to apply...

Yeah i've done that, but scrambling a field will also scramble the name of the client in those fields and thus my set analysis (in which the client's name is hardcoded) won't work.

Hello Thijs,

You may then hardcode the scrambled name, as the scrambled output gives always the same value, although it may be very tedious...

That was exactly my problem... Not looking forward to it.
