Script/Expression Help Required

Hi,

I'm a beginner to Qlikview.

I'm trying to write an expression to calculate the annual cost differential (numerical and percentage), for every department.

Please find attached an example.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Andrea

See attached qvw for two options.

A more dynamic version that uses expressions only (above() function) and matches your layout.

Best,

Peter

Well basically there are two methods here:

  1. Either open Gysbert's or my example model, select the object of your preference, select Edit->Copy from the menu bar, move to your opened QVW, select Edit->Paste. Rightmouseclick the new object, select Properties and change all field names (Dimensions & Expressions tabs) into proper ones, i.e. the corresponding ones in your model.
  2. Or create a new dashboard object by selecting  Object->New Sheet Object->Chart... from the file menu in your new model, selecting an object type (e.g. Straight Table)  and adding Dimensions & Expressions like the ones that were used in the examples.

All example charts contain expressions for both amount & percentage presentations of the Annual Cost Difference. Just copy the ones you like.

Good luck,

Peter
