SecondaryDimensionality() doesn't work in conditional expression

Hi all,

I am quite new to Qlikview, and working on V11.

I am trying to hide and expression on level 2 (Vertically) in a pivot table.

I am using conditional formula on the expression, but it don't work. What am I doing wrong?

My conditional formula is SecondaryDimensionality<>2 on the expression, but it doesn't work.If I make an expression as a new column with SecondaryDimensionality() I get the number 2 in the column.

Thanks and best regards

Niels Henrik

Niels,

not sure if I misunderstood your setting, but secondarydimensionality()  is the equivalent of the dimensionality() function for horizontal pivot table dimensions.

Just because you were talking of 'level 2 (Vertically)'..

If this does not help, could you upload an small sample file?

I will try and make a sample file. But true I wasn't specific enough.

On my vertical levels I have weekno. as Level 1 and Weekday as Level 2.

And I want to hide my expression Margin for Level 2 (Weekdays) but not for Level 1 (Week).

If I make an expression with SecondaryDimensionality() I get my levels correct in my expression. But I can't hide my Margin even though I have a conditional formula stating SecondaryDimensionality()<>2. The condition doesn't work.

I think I get what you want now.

Unfortunately, I think using a Dimensionality()<>2 in your conditional expression won't work.

I believe this is evaluated per chart, not taking the epanded / compressed levels on the granularityyou need into account.

So I think the conditional expression will always show the expression or always hide the expression, depending on the result of the condition evaluated in chart scope, but secondarydimensionality() will probably return just zero in that scope.

Hmm ... Thanks for you answer 🙂

Is the another way to do what I want to do. Hide an expression on a specific level in a pivot?

Thanks ...
