Section access - how to get access on new computer/username?

Hello,

I have a problem - I had my company computer changed and the username/domain changed. I tried to prepare for this change and removed all section access restrictions... almost all - I forgot about some files and now I cannot access them.

Is it possible to somehow manually enter user/domain/password when opening such file in different environment? I know the user/domain/password so I just need a way to enter it to open the files and remove section access restrictions...

Best regards!

Hi Borys,

Sorry to say you, as per my QlikVIew understanding it is not possible.

Section Access is very good on security point of view.

Can you ask whoever did the network/domain changes to reactivate your old AD User ?

You'll probably have to ask very nicely and maybe offer some chocolate cake / pizza.

Bill,

I'm waiting for an answer from them... but it's too big/spreaded organization, so probably pizza will not help too much...

Just ask for reactivating the domain and the admin id of your applications.

So that you can remove section aceess or modify them according to your new domain and usernames.

Thats why its preferable to define the section access table outside the script of the application.

It can be either in xls, txt, or define it by publisher.

This helps in easily redefine the users.

Anyway best of luck to get the support from your AD team.

Yes - I even started to design such configuration with txt files but it end up in design phase
