Security concerns using Google maps with Qlikview?

Hi guys,

Our IT security officer has concerns that Google can log information from the API connection that the google maps are using. What are your thoughts on this? I mean, no data is actually being sent to Google, just coordinate requests for the map picture in the application, right?

I appreciate any feedback that can help me get the authorization to use this fantastic functionality!

Did you ever get clarification on this?  I heard similar concerns from IT and I want to make sure I understand the risks?

I would like to resurrect this thread.  I have similar concerns and can't find any answers.  It seems like we are just sending them centering coordinates, zoom level, maptype etc. and no data.  It seems like Google Maps is merely a backdrop for our data which is all kept within Qlikview, but I am by no means an expert in this area.
