Select only one dimension based on other dimension in pivot table

Dear all,

I need help with the following problem:

I have 2 dimensions that have equal possible values:

DIM_1

DIM_2

I have a set of data linked to only one DIM_1 but can (but doesn't have to) be linked to more than one DIM_2:

DATA

I want to built a pivot table that contains both the dimensions and the sum of the data set related to the dimension. However! I need to select only the one value of DIM_2 that corresponds to DIM_1 in the table if the data is related to more than one DIM_2.

I am lost as to how I can built something like that...
