I have two tables joined...a sales table and the transaction table. The sales table lists the items that were sold for the previous month, and the transaction table which lists purchasing records for the past year. When I join the tables by the the item number, I get back all the purchasing transactions for that item. I would like to limit the result to the last purchasing transaction by date (i.e. the most recent purchasing transaction). I am not sure if this is a set analysis problem or something else.
