Selection from 'text object' like list box

Hi,

Can we make selections from a text box like selection one particular value from list box?

Please guide.

You can't make selections on a textbox exactly like a list box, however you can make a trigger on the textbox, which when selected, will select values in a field.

Actions -> Selection -> Select in Field

Then just type in your field that you want to make the selection and the value you want it to select. This way you have to "hard-code" which value to be selected. Not exactly like list box.

after hard coding the value will the other objects will change when i click on the text box as i have added action in that? cause objects are not getting changed at the moment.

Yep it should select the value in your field, which in turn should affect your charts/listboxes. Make sure you have spelled your field correctly and for the search value, don't use single quotes around it. Could you post your field, and the value you're trying to select if this doesnt help? Are you selecting more than one value?

Hi,

FieldName 'Region' and lets say there are 'A','B','C' values inside this field

While 'Select in Field' in action it asks Field amd Search string..so for selecting Region A what needs to be added in these two expressions. I tried different expressions but its not changing the objects in the sheet at the moment.

Here is a sample with an action on the text box to select a field...

Okay for the Field dialog, you would type in: Region

For the search string for selecting A type in just : A

If you want to select A,B,C in the search string type: (A|B|C)
