Services are down in server

Hi,

Can anybody give a proper reason why services in server goes down sometimes ?

Restarting the services solves the issue often but as I work on a live database, restarting server and services are not very preffered solutions. Root cause analysis is required.

Can anybody suggest where all I need to check, what can be the probable reason or what can be the solution ?

Many thanks in advance.

Regards

Hi,

As Bill said, try to see the log. Choose a high verbosity in the QEMC. You can also check the windows log.

Else, the root cause are multiples.

For example, recently I met the same issue, it was due to the fact that the licence files were unavailable during some minutes when our shared folder was switching for a physical site to another (cluster).

Vincent

Hi!

Strange things can happens if you have to little RAM on the server. Search in the log.

I made the mistake one time to allowed 12 QVB's in a environment. The services went up and down all the time (only in QMC) and nothing was working. When I set it down to 8 everything was working fine again.

Hello Nayana,

Please check it with your RAM.

If you have small size of RAM than your Data, then sure it will affected on your services.

Is this RAM not enough ? How do I figure out ?

Please help.

The QlikView server event log should log the error as to why QVS restarted.
