Hi,
I have a document, using Session Access in it's script to load the data.
I have configured the reload of this document on the server but each time I try to reload it: it fails.
Do I have to use the "Session Access" section of the reload form of the admin portal (see attached screenshot)?
And if yes, what credentials do I have to use?
Thanks in advance for any clues!
Lilian
Hi Lillian,
You need to add to the section access the user the QlikView services are running under, as ADMIN in the ACCESS fields. Then you can set either this account in the form DOMAIN\USERNAME leaving blank the field password, or any other ADMIN user in your section access. Check here for a very similar and recent issue.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
It fails cause you need to pass the username and password of admin to the shown place in your image.
This admin is the one defind in the Section Access.

Hi Mr Solanki,
Thanks for the quick answer!
My session access is based on a MS Excel file (see the new file attached to the discussion).
The "admin" is set with the user id used to log on the QV server machine (BTW a virtual machine).
Even with the same user put in the document reload form of the web console, the reload still fails!
Could this be because the Active Directory domain of the QV server is the machine's local domain and not the company domain?
Best regards,
Lilian Cardonne
Hi,
Will you please post the log file here.

Hi Miguel,
I'm totaly in the situation your advising!
In my session access MS Excel file I have a row with 'ADMIN' and 'MACHINE_LOCAL_DOMAIN\MACHINE_USER'.
In the web admin portal form "Section Access" is checked and "Username" is set to 'MACHINE_LOCAL_DOMAIN\MACHINE_USER'.
But whether I put the password or not in the 'Password' field of the web admin portal form, the document fails to reload.
The full log I get is:

All the QV processes qnd services are running under MACHINE_LOCAL_DOMAIN\MACHINE_USER.
To be complete, I can add that the qvw reads the MS Excel session access file then loads qvd files generated by another application. Everything works fine when I reload the qvw file with the QV client on the machine.
Lilian
P.S.:
1) MACHINE_LOCAL_DOMAIN\MACHINE_USER has sufficient rights on all the involved files on disk!
2) In my session access Excel file I do not have a 'PASSWORD' column is that an issue?

Hi Lilian,
In regards to your second question, no, it should not be a problem not having the PASSWORD field. Actually, if you are using the NTNAME field, you should not to have the PASSWORD field. In your section access, MACHINE_LOCAL_DOMAIN\MACHINE_USER must be under NTNAME field and not under USERID.
Is that correct?
BI Consultant
Yes Miguel,
In the ACCESS and NTNAME columns of my Excel file I have 'ADMIN'
and 'MACHINE_LOCAL_DOMAIN\machine_user' (with this character case).
In the reload configuration form of the document in the web admin console, the "Username" of the "Session Access" is set to 'MACHINE_LOCAL_DOMAIN\machine_user'.
Thanks a lot for your help... There is certainly something obvious in front of me that I don't see 😉
Lilian
Hi Lilian,
Set the "machine_user" part uppercase in both the Server console and the excel file.
Regards.
