Set Analysis or ???

Hi Experts,

I want to create an object where the output is based on certain selections. E.G

In the attached sample data and QVW,

• The Rmode will be default selected to C
• The User will make a selection for L1
• The adjoining Line chart has Calendar year on X axis and Calculation on Y Axis
• If the user does not make a selection for RYear, then the Calc in the chart should calculate 'calc'  based on Calendar year
• Calc=((W1*GW1) +(F1*GF1)+(M1*GM1))*CF)

I am not sure how to force the system to select Calendar year instead of RYear for calculating 'Calc'.

Looking for some expert advise.
