Hi boppy

Let me tell you that you can use container objects in V10 onwards

if you have V 9 then you don't find container objects.

new sheet object --> select container objects --> then it will prompt you to select all the objects available.

You can select list boxes, input boxes, charts etc in one container.

But you can use one object at a time.

Hope this helps

Hi Boppy

With container object you can only see one object at a time.

But you can swap the objects at any time.

Where as display is conserned you can see one object at a time.

Hi

Boppy I'm not sure but I think that can be acheived by .Net API

Hi Boppy,

There is no group objects in QlikView. Typically the technique for having a group or objects show simultaneously is via a data island.

Say you load a table unrelated to the data model (hence the data island) with 2 columns, such as:

LOAD * INLINE [
Selection, ShowID
Sales, 1
Cost, 2
Margin, 3
];

Then on the front end, you can insert a Listbox for "Selection" with the "always one selected value" option ticked in, and then associate multiple objects to the relevant ShowID in the Layout > Show Conditional tab. Hence, whenever your end-users click on one of the values in the Selection listbox, all associated objects show condition will be fulfilled and will appear.

This is perhaps the only technique to group front-end objects. Therefore, if you need to have to objects open side-by-side rather than one at a time, use this technique.

The container object is an extension of the fast changes, as it allows fast changes between non-Chart objects, e.g. text object.

Hope this helps you acheive what you want.
