A very common topic in Qlik Apps: How to cover comments.
There are many solutions available from macros that write back input values to a text file to sophisticated extensions. To get around the input problem on small installations, I simply load the comments with the data and do not offer an input interface. Not user friendly, but robust and cheap.
What was left open to me (maybe I did not search enough) was the question, how to indicate that for a specific data point we have a comment. My solution is "value on data point". The enclosed app creates a measurement "comment indicator" during load if a comment is available for a data set. Then it puts a marker "comment available" by the side of this data point in a line chart.
I would be curious if anyone did something similar and what the general opinion is. Happy for suggestions to improve it.
