Showing all dimension values in a chart

Hi,

I have a line chart with dates going back to 1999 until 2016.  All dates are a month end.  I am having difficulty in displaying all dates from 1999 to now in the chart without making it very wide.  The user does not like the scroll dimension option either.  I have tried to use continuous also but Continuous seems to display dates which do not even exist in my data.

Had anyone come across this and/or know how I can resolve this?
