Subtracting based on two dimension vlaues

Dears,

     Assume I have two stages of a process and each one has start and end date. How could I subtract the end date of the first from the start date of the second so that i could know if there any gap between them.

Process	stage	Start Date	End Date
Process 1	1	1/1/2014	1/2/2104
Process 1	2	1/3/2014	1/5/2014
