Text converter PDF

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how I can read a pdf file with QLV.

I tried using a converter transforming PDF files into a TXT file (see example attached files A1.pdf and A1.txt), but I do not know how to read the TXT file that was converted with QLV.

Can anyone give me some examples or another converter. The converter that I use transforms rows into columns.

For example if I have a PDF file of 20 rows and 3 columns, the converter turns it into a TXT file with 3 rows and 20 columns.

How can I load the txt file obtained in QLV document?

thank all

You can use the QV built in filter to rotate the input table:

A1:

LOAD Sales,

     City,

     Year

FROM

A1.txt

(txt, codepage is 1252, embedded labels, delimiter is ' ', msq, filters(

Rotate(right)

));

Thank you for your help.

But the problem is more complicated. How do I upload a file like the one attached?

I think you need to look out for a converter that keep the table format.

I believe there are some candidates out there and I am not going to recommend one over the others. Only performing a quick search, I was able to convert your document to excel using this product: http://www.wondershare.net/pdf-converter/

Having an excel file, you should be able to read this into Qlikview easily, but maybe you need to handle the pivot style, there are some threads here that handle multiline headers and the pivot itself using a crosstable load.

Hope this helps,

Stefan

Hi Swuhel,

thamk for your help.

I will try a converter from PDF to TXT or other files type.

However, even the Excel file that you attached is not equal to the initial PDf file.

Hi, Sbuzi.

As you see, there are many free conversion tools online. But I don't suggest you to use them to do with your PDF to TXT conversion work. Because I always believe that the free tools online do not have so many professional functions as the paid ones. And it is said that some of them might contain some virus. Check some free trials of the paid professional conversion tools to convert image file to word doc first before you make your final decision if possible. I also suggest you choose one whose way of processing is simple and fast. It can save a lot of time for you. Remember to do your conversion work according to its conversion tutorial page about how to convert document image using C#.NET. I hope you success. Good luck.

Best regards,

Arron

I find another free online pdf to text converter to convert pdf to plain text online. all the content will keep the original page layout in the converted txt file. it means if there are 20 rows in the pdf page, the output txt file will contain 20 row line text.
