Hi
Has anyone experienced issues with laptops that are touch based e.g. Dell Latitudes , using Chrome or Firefox ?
Types of issues experienced are Scroll bars not working, selections not responding.
I'm interested to hear your experiences and also those out there using other branded laptops that have touch screens.
Many thanks
Paul
Hi, Paul.
The issues I have experienced with touch screens are similar to those encountered when using iPads (there are iPad Best practices information on Qlik Community).
Typically issues I have come across which is not an exhaustive list include:
Decide on portrait or landscape mode - don't vary as this is annoying.
Make sure everything fits on the page available to avoid scrolling.
Mouse-over chart functionality doesn't work.
Scroll bars may also not work properly depending on the device but if they do, make them chunky for users with fat fingers . This may apply to other features as users easily despair of icons and actions are not easy to navigate by touch.
Cheers,
Neil
Thanks Neil, these are issues that are specifically with Dell Touch Lap tops, QV app is fine using IE, just fails with chrome and Firefox on these laptops.
No issues running the Apps from any Browser on PC desktops and non touch based laptops.
As for iPads, no issues there as we only have Safari on the iPads and also use the QV iPad app to run our
dashboards.
if I open demo app in Qlik Demo with Google Chrome have in menu bar button "Switch touch / mouse mode" Nout with win 8.1
But in my work noutbook with windows 7 sp1 and my server SR9 it's not work.
how do I add this functionality?
