Transfer Bookmarks across versions

Can bookmarks be transferred from one version of the file to the next?

Say for example we have version 1 of the dashboard. We make a couple of visual edits, and add a couple of new filters, this becomes version 1.1.

Can we transfer the bookmarks created in version 1 to version 1.1?

You can Export the bookmarks from version 1 and Import then in version 1.1.

To Export, just go to Bookmarks -> Export, chose a path and save.

Same to Import.

Gabriel

Thats great, didnt know that was an option!

Do you know what would happen if an object is added or deleted across versions...would that affect the bookmarks in functioning?

you may try other approach, all bookmarks (user objects) stored in a shared file ( yourappname.qvw.shared) which you can find on your documents folder.copy paste and rename the file to your new version file name, you will all your bookmarks.

I've tested here, and in that case it just doesn't apply filters in the field that was deleted. Added fields will just not be considered too.

What if the "Export" option isn't visible?
