Unable to Transfer State to another QVW?

Hi All,

I am unable to transfer state(parameters) from one qvw to another . I am adding external actions on button to open another qvw with Transfer State check box selected but somehow it is not getting transferred. The fields and data is same in both the files . The only difference  is naming conventions of the files.Need your suggestions.

Is fields are same in both the files?

Is there any document triggers in the files?

If possible attach sample files.

I found the solution by adding a button and putting action as close this document in the called app.

Can you please share details on how you achieved the opening of another document by passing the selections?

Hi Rajesh,

I achieved the solution with below steps:

1. I added a Button in App A (Calling App) with external actions as "Open Qlikview Document" and providing the full path of the App which is to be opened. Also checked the button "Transfer State "and "Open in Same Window".

2. Now add another Button in App B (Called app) with external action as "Close this Document".

Note: Per my experience Transfer State doesn't work if the called document is not closed every time.

Please note that the problem of not transferring state to an already open document has been fixed in SR7. It still does not work in QV Desktop, but it does work on the server when using the Ajax client. I have not tested on SR8, but I recall there may have been a mention in the release notes.
