Unable to see files while trying 'Open in server' option

Hi,

Can anyone let me know the reason why I can see applications through Access Point but I couldn't see when tried with 'Open in Server' in my desktop? Please let me know if any settings to be done.

Please check the error screen attached. Thanks much in advance!

Sasi,

Probably the port 4747 on Qlikview Server is not open for external connection.  Check the firewall settings on Qlikview Server.

This port is required for Qlikview Desktop and the IE Plug-in connect to a Qlikview Server.

When using Ajax interface, only port 80 is used. No need for other ports to be open between Qlikview Web Server and  Users Web Browser.

Hi Pablo,

Thanks for your response.

Actually I see the same thing works for other developers. So, I hope there is no configuration issue. At the same time I couldn't figure out what's wrong from my side.

Hi Sasi,

Are you using the Desktop with a user that has a session open in any other computer? That may be causing that problem as well. Licenses are assigned to one user in one computer, so if for example you have the Plugin with a document open and you open Desktop, you may see this error. Make sure your user has all instances of QlikView closed, then try again.

Make sure as well that you have a Named User CAL license assigned to your user in the Server. Go to the QEMC, System, Licenses, QlikView Server, Client Access Licenses (CALs), Assigned CALs tab and check that your user in the form DOMAIN\YOURUSERNAME is among those listed there.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply Miguel. It is not a shared desktop and my other team member can access the docs through 'Open in Server' but I'm getting that error. Not sure why.

Hi Sasi,

Did you make sure your license is correctly assigned in the QEMC and that port 4747 TCP is opened outbound and inbound in your computer?

Are you using some proxy settings to connect to the network?

Hope that helps.
