Unstacking a Bar Chart

I have a graph with two expressions (sun of actual and sum of Budget) graphed by month and category. I would like to represent the actual and budget as side by side bares but Qlikview only stacks the data. Is there wa way to have the interface not stack them? In style no matter what is selected (grouped or stacked) they are always stacked.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

If your x-axis is set as continuos (on the axes tab) then the only possibility is to have stacked bars. Otherwise, (if you use them side by side) would mean that they are not in the same point in the axis (in time, for example)

You should disable the continuous x-axis or use another approach, for example on a combo chart, use one expression as a bar and another one as a line or a symbol.

Hope this helps,

Erich

Unfortunately, they need to be in the same point and continous is disabled but they are stacked......there has to be a way to unstack....

Hi,

I have the following dimensions,

EffectiveDate

Factor1 - Expression1

Factor2 - Expression2

Now EffectiveDate is on the x-axis, which is correct, the problem is I want a bar chart with Factor1 and Factor2 side-by-side compared to each another for different expressions. This works for other graphs like the line graph and combo graph, but for some reason it only shows a stacked bar graph when you use the bar chart.

Your Help will Really be Appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Razak

Hi,

I think you create a new bar chart (without copy from any source). Then apply your dimension and expression.

Thanks and Regards

I think I got your issue, but if you can provide a example app, then I may give you the correct solution.

Hi, Razak

This result is a bit strainge, but based on you statement: "it only shows a stacked bar graph when you use the bar chart"

You can set the chart to be a combo chart and set all the expressions to be bars on the expression tab

Hope this helps,

Erich
