Using Google maps or other geographical maps

Hi,

I have created my own solution when it comes to visualizing sales etc on a geographical map. I use a map as a background image, and then I use a Scatter chart to populate any revenue based on coordinates on the screen. This works pretty well.

However, I wonder what is needed (in short) to connect to any mapping service (Google, Bing, etc.)? Is there a cost associated with it? I have country codes (GB, FR, US, SE, DK, etc.). Is that enough to connect to a mapping service? Do I need to sign up with Google to be able to connect to Qlikview?

Thanks

Most of the mapping does require an agreement if you are going to use it for 'business' purposes, but I am having a hard time finding a good link for you to say Google to read up on things, but it basically would involve getting access to the Google Maps APIs I believe.

You may want to check out our GeoAnalytics product as well in this case, that might give you everything you need and integrate much easier for you as well as give you a lot more flexibility potentially.  Sorry I do not have something better, but hopefully this helps a little.

Regards,
Brett
