Variable Overview Function

I have problem with the Variable Overview function. I am not able to activate the Add button. I have uninstalled and re-installed the program but still having the same problem. Have tried other options like Ctrl-Alt_V and going via the Layout Settings but still not successful. Please share if anyone is aware of the solution as as I need this function for my project. Thank you.

Hi,

Have you tried to create variables from Document --> Variables

I've been checking a possible option to enable/disable this but no luck so far, in the meantime you could check if you're able to create variables from here.

There are very few reports of possible similar issues, I personally had experienced an issue on one machine where I was not able to add an alternate state from document properties (the dialog didn't open and the application froze),

This only disappeared AFAIR after reinstalling Windows and upgrading QV.

Another report indicated an issue caused by an anti-virus scanner:
