Version 8.5 with version 11

Dear all,

I have some QlikView files made with the old version 8.5 and I was wondering if there is any way to open them with the current version 11.

Any advice will be appreciated!

Thank you.

Hi,

Just Installed the QV 11 Client and it will work fine.

Just one thing that need to be taken care. Macros may create issue but if don't have it then no issue while migrating application.

Lower version application works properly on higher version. But if you try vice versa it will definately create problem

Thanks for the answer!

Actually the files I have were created in QlikView 8.5, a demo version.

Thus, when I open these files in the demo version Qlik View 11, I get the message that the documents were created with another user Personal Edition.

It suggests to restore the file, but in this way I won’t be able to open any other file with my user key, if I understood correctly.

Thanks for any advice.

If you have a Personal Edition of the Qlikview then you won't be able to open that application. Because your applicaiton is built in different version and ur opening it in different version.

For that you need to have the License Key. But once have the license key then it will work in both Qlikview Version.

Ok, so if I buy QlikView 11, as you say, and have the licence key, I will be able to open these documents created with a demo version of Qlik 8.5.

Thank you very much indeed.

Hi............Try to do one thing..

get the license of qlikview 11,than you will be able to open the application in your system.

With the license we get the acceess to open the application in other machine other than the machine in which it has been created.

And we can open any lower version in the higher version....
