WHere to declare user defined variables ?

Hey,

If i have to use a local variable say(vNoOfFields) :

let vNoOfFields = QvdNoOfFields('C:\ Qlikview\Tutorial\essai.qvd');

Do i need to define "vNoOfFields" on the tab in edit script where i need it or i have to declare "vNoOfFields" in the MAin tab where all other predefined variables are defined ??

Not necessarily in Main tab, but where you need it.

Hello nikhil,

you can declare your variables anywhere in your script. Just make sure you declare it after you create your qvd file.

You can also declare variables in design mode by going to Settings --> Variables Overview.

in the tab you want, before you nedd it

or in the variable windows (ctrl + alt +v)

Hola! Quizá por la mala traducción de google no he entendido  bien tu consulta pero puedes crear variables desde :

Configuración > Propiedades del documento > Variables

ó Ctrl + Alt + D para acceder rápidamente.

Saludos.
