Those activities are mostly generic and not necessarily strictly QlikView-related. They belong to the activities that are part of regular Release Management. A good read-up: Release Management: Where to Start? - www.itsmwatch.com

In short: QA (or Acceptance) is an environment where a new application or document is evaluated using production data by end-users as if they were using a production system. The end result is a sign-off by stakeholders that the application runs as expected and is ready to be pushed to production, and a packaged application that can be installed by administrators on the production system. This is a formal phase that is part of the acceptance cycle of a new application or a new release of an application.

Some of the activities:

  • publication of the application as a finished product
  • set-up and configuration of the application as a finished product
  • configuration of test-users (i.e. NOT developers)
  • definition of test scenarios
  • planning of one or more test cycles
  • collection of test results
  • evaluation of test results
  • discussion of these test results with key-users, stakeholders
  • pushback of an application to development, if it failed to meet critical conditions for acceptance
  • packaging of the final application

Hi,

Thanks for your detailed mail . It really helps me. From Qlikview prospective, Do I need to add any specific activities or the above points would suffice.
