Hello,
I want to ask about what exactly is : Save AutoRecover Info under User Preferences ?
does it saves the .qvw file automatically when system crashes ? And when we save a qvw file the AutoRecover File gets deleted automatically?
Thanks
Generally, this is used to save the file automatically & recover previous saved file if any crashes.
Here is the Help file comments:
Here rules for creating a backup of the current QlikView file can be specified. This autosave functionality can be very helpful in case of a system crash. It is possible to independently set the auto recover save to occur at regular intervals (Every _ Minutes) and each time the script is run (After Reload).
Note!
No AutoRecover files will be saved for a new document until it has been saved by the user under a document name.
I would preferably like to use Use Back Up option. Its more useful working on Section Access documents.
It is very similar to auto-save at regular interval.
Settings.ini is updated with -
AutoSaveTimer=1
Also I found the autosaved file is stored at -
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\QlikTech\QlikView
Hi,
From Qlikview Help file:
Save AutoRecover Info | Here rules for creating a backup of the current QlikView file can be specified. This autosave functionality can be very helpful in case of a system crash. It is possible to independently set the auto recover save to occur at regular intervals (Every _ Minutes) and each time the script is run (After Reload). Note! |
This is generally helpful during development, it will take backup of the qlikview file after every reload or defined interval. I
The same way Save Before Reload option: It will automatically save before reload starts, sometimes if there is any error in the script the reload fails so we lose the work which we did. To overcome this, this option is more useful.
Hope this helps you.
Regards,
Jagan.
