What is a Meta file in QlikView?

Hi!

Can anybody tell me what is a Meta file in QlikView? I can see it is generated for some of my apps but don't know if I should keep it or delete it.

Any info would be fantastic!

Hi,

Keep it. Don't delete it.

Basically there will be three types of files in your qlikview folder other then .QVW

1) .pgo file consist the license details (session , document , user CAl)

2) .meta file contains document properties details (i.e , document category, distribution list information e.t.c)

3) .Shared file contains the details of all the shared object created by the user for the respected report.

Keep it. It's used to store document information (such as the Category that you see in the AccessPoint).

The META file that contains:

  • AccessPoint attributes
  • Pre-load options
  • Authorization (Document Metadata Service – that is, DMS – mode only)

do not delete these file.

Best Regards
