Root Folder

The default root folder location where the folders containing user bookmarks,

user reports and user alerts are stored. Note that by changing this location without

moving the folder contents the existing user bookmarks, user reports and

user alerts will be lost.

Mounted Folders

additional folders, out side of the root where documents may be stored

HEy,

as far i get is:

Mount folders:  Contains qlikview documents which should be visible on access point. No other qlikview doc will be shown on access point except these.

Root folder:  Where .pgo files are kept.

If there is something else about these folder then please let me know.

Thanks

You can keep documents in the root folder as well. It is a mandatory folder and where documents that should be accessed by all are kept. It also contains the .pgo files, tasks, schedules batch files and more.

Mount folders are optional, they can be placed on other drives or partitions.

as you said, Root folder's qvw are accessible to all. So does that mean Mount folder's qvw are not accessible to all??

thanks

Not necessarily. It depends on how the access restrictions are set up for the mount folder. It could be open to all or just for a certain group.

Root and Mount folders are only accessible to users / groups that you actually assign NT or DMS access rights too!

Root folders = Default and must exist, Mounts are optional.

Availability is not directly related to root/mounted folder.  You can have only root folder and no mounted folders, and still maintain different user access to your different documents.
