Not sure if I understood the question.

In general, please check for example this description of a logical conjunction:

Logical conjunction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In QV, please read the chapter Set Analysis in the HELP, in particular to the intersection operator *.

Comparing both references should make things more clear.
