Comparative Analysis is used to analyse data on different group of same dimension.

Set analysis and set expression used to display values corresponding to various sets of data.

Set Analysis:

Normally aggregation function always agergate the values.

Based on possible records or you want pass  the value dynamically at run time.

For,

Sum({${<Year ={$(vLastYear)}>} sales.

This is three category,

Identifier, Operator, Modifier.

Comparative analysis:

Comparison between Two Companies A and B.

Compression between Last Year Sales VS Current Year Sales.

Last Quarter Sale Vs This Quarter Sales.(you need create Alternate State.)

Comparative Analysis is a way to analyze data based on multiple groups.   It is not a comparison between two items such as Company A vs Company B.  It is all about you, the user, creating customized groups on demand

For Set Analysis Refer to this link.
