What splitting data layer from the reporting layer means and how it can be done?

Dear All,

I am new with Qlikview and has been asked by my manager to make sure that data layer is splitted from the reporting layer.

But I don't know what does this means and how it can be done.

Can some shed some light on it?

What splitting data layer from the reporting layer means and how it can be done?

I will highly appreciate it.

Thanks,

TA

Hi, please refer to Qlikview architect document to know more about the different layers you can use.

http://www.infovara.ee/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/QlikView-arhidektuur_EN.pdf

and

http://www.datamind.co.il/image/users/174172/ftp/my_files/PDF/BI-WP-QlikView-Scalability-Overview-EN...

The idea is to separete the data layer (for ex. a QVW to create QVD files) and the reporting layer (just loading the QVD and make reports)

I hope this helps.
