Very simpler is that

1. Qlikview is In-Memory Tool.

2. Fast development of application in days or hours you create applications.

3. Built in ETL functionality you can create ETL application itself in QV application.

4. Good UI designing and presentations.

5. Today load data from any type of source.

This is an interesting question designed to test your understanding. That is there's not a single correct answer, only a point of view based on general knowledge.

Key points may include:

  • Data is held within memory and structured in way which ensures vast amounts of information can be intergrated quickly.
  • QlikView doesn't need a data warehouse to store information (it usually does have one though)
  • QlikView dashboard developments are comparatively fast to implement and it lends itself nicely to iterative design.

I'm sure there are lots of other ideas out there which is the delight of this question.

Richard.

PS - I don't normally answer interview questions (I did for this one because you were honest) because parroting out verbatim what another person has said isn't the way to get a job, I would encourage you to investigate and reflect what you think it means to you.

Hi Ramesh,

It's good to hear you're learning a new shill and please don't take my comment as discouragement.

The reason I encouraged you to investigate these answers further and reflect is because a good interviewer will often expand on your answers.

For example if you use my response, "QlikView dashboard developments are comparatively fast to implement and it lends itself nicely to iterative design." the interviewer may ask about other tools you have used before.

This statement is comparative. Using SSRS then QlikView would typically be faster for end to end development although if the requirements are limited then excel would probably be the fastest although as we know excel can't handle the volumes.

As I stated this question is more about your point of view and experience. If you're building that experience up from scratch its would be good for your own development to dig a little deeper into the ideas put forward here.

Good luck

Richard

Dear Ramesh,

I appreciate you, It is a simple and informative question and it needs to be answered with simple answer.

  • Easy to use – simple and intuitive use of the platform,
  • Transparent reporting and analysis – data visualization in a meaningful and innovative way,
  • Scalability – immediate time of the response, with no restrictions on the amount of data,
  • Data Integration – fast integration of all data from various sources into a single application,
  • Identify trends – recognition of, invisible at a first glance, trends and information to make innovative decisions,
  • Teamwork – common decision-making process and real-time collaboration security,
  • Full filtering data – search across all data - directly and indirectly,
  • Various forms of data presentation – use of dynamic applications, dashboards and analyses,
  • Mobility – access, analyze and retrieve data from mobile devices,
  • Fast implementation – usually about a week,
  • Low cost – quick return on investment, thanks to the short implementation period.

That kind of questions are really helpful to new learners, users as well as community members.

Should you require any help please let me know.

Kind regards,

Ishfaque Ahmed
