Why does my mail setup not work?

I am trying to setup mailing in my "personal edition" of Qlikview, but I constantly get errors.

I have already switched off my virus scanner.

I am using port 25 and AUTH LOGIN as the authentication  method.

Who can give me the golden tip

Hi,

Check this post. You need to specify that in addition to the user and password, communication between server and client is encripted.

Is that what you were after?

I am not sure.

I an not familiar with these scripts.

I hoped it should work when you enter the details in the mail / User preferences.

You may need to set a different authentication method (cram md5) maybe?

I still get the same error, that encryption is required
