Xero Accounting Integration

Has anyone managed to integrate into the Xero accounting cloud solution?

I notice this question was brought up in the postConnection to Xero accounting system‌although it remains unanswered and is 5 years old.

With the software improvements and increased number of users has anyone succeeded.

Thank you for any help offered.

I have

I used a CData ODBC connector. It cost $200 for 12 months

I will look at other options including Qliks rest.

It works well but XERO have not set up the Inventory detail table yet. As well there is not one for fixed assets.

Its also tricky getting the GL details (like invoice name and reference) as the GL is summarized (*1) and doesn't provide a one to one link to the say invoices table. So it a bit of a nightmare getting it all tied in. XERO need to really adjust their data structure to make it a  lot easier

* if one supplier invoice contains more than one posting to one Gl account then the total is held as one balance in the XERO GL not two or more. So its possible to get the supplier name but not so easy to link the detail.

Any luck on this. I set up the OAuth App in Xero, and installed the certs, and keys everyday to sunday in the connector and am having no luck. Anyone have any ideas on making this work?

Hi

Xero wasn't (maybe it has been improved) really set up for BI. Even the Power BI free link wasn't much good I felt. If I was doing it again I would maybe forget about an automatic link (rest or CData) and just do it from reports (account transactions).

I also did too much. It was good but a bit of an overkill. And things like not including foreign exchange unrealised gains in the GL ledger (but in the profit) always meant a difference between the Xero profit and BI profit

XERO is a VG system but they do things in a unique way. That creates issues with a BI extract.

Hi Sir

Thank you for your sharing . May I know are you user of XERO ?

I saw you organise your Qlik Sense using each QVF for each function. Why no combine all project into one QVF ?

Because :-

1 you only need to reload once

2. You can create all dimension and expression in one QVF file

3. You can create variable in one QVF , easy manage.

Hi Paul

It is only one QVF. Those are sheets within one QVF.

Hi,

You can use Cloudslurp to do this to get a live data URL and load it into Qlik using the REST connector...

https://www.cloudslurp.com/#/?connectorname=xero

It is a paid solution but it allows you to export full data sets, handles data pagination and maintains a live connection to Xero.

Extract data from the following Xero tables to Qlik:

accounts, banktransactions, invoices,contacts,payments,purchaseorders,quotes,banktransfers,creditnotes
