YTD and MTD Function Not working

Attached is my QVW. I am creating Period comparison,  I have created variables to calculate  YTD and MTD but still  not working.  Please help me to resolve it.

Thanks for your quick help. I have downloaded your edited superstoremaster QVW, I saw only changes made in vMaxMonth but I cant see any values like yours. Below is my screenshot image. 

Can you please help me to identify the problem.

For me, its working fine. Might be, QV version different. Instead of single quotes in order date, can you try with double quotes like below and change the variable with date format
