You can delete a QlikView file from it's source while it is open .

I just wonder how we are able to delete the QlikView file which is currently open.

Anyone has any clue?

Thanks.

Raj,

my only advise - don't delete QlikViews that are valuable, whether they are open or not Big Smile

And also - keep several backups handy Wink

Raj,

we are working "in memory", remember? Once the document is loaded (completely) into memory, QlikView doesn't need it at the moment. You can delete, replace or rename the document - your open version in memory is not affected. You can then save the document from the memory, and it will get re-created again.

Unlike databases, there are no locks here...

Oleg,

I know that it is disconnected once loaded into the memory from it's source file. But my concern is, say I deleted it from it's source loaction when is open. Now there is no copy of it other than the one which is in memory and say I close it without saving. Then I will lose my application forever.

Though it is rare but could happen something like it.

Does it make sense?

Thanks.
