difference between autonumberhash 256 and 128

what is autonumber hash function ? autonumberhash 128 and autonumber hash 256?

The only difference AFAIK is the hash value size in bit, 128 bit vs. 256 bit.

The hash function maps arbitrary size data to fixed-length data. The difference between Hash128 and Hash256 is only the fixed size of the output range values, ie Hash256 allows mapping more distinct values, fewer collisions (input mapped to the same output value). But it will also consume more memory to store the hash values (but, as these values are then Autonumber'ed, it does not really matter).
