box to get data for variables

can you have a field on a screen that is then used a variables in a script?

i.e. a box to enter two dates, these dates are then used as variables within the script to only fetch data between those two dates?

i realise this may be the cart pulling the horse but just wondered if there was  way round it?

Look attached file. We changeat UI  Variant1, reload and change the variable v1 in script. .

[ahaahaaha]

Those the value of the variable Variant1 changed in UI is passed to the script variable v1
