change custom layer order in ajax

I'm very surprised I couldn't find a single discussion on this subject.

I essentially just want to create a server text object using the AJAX client and bring it to the top layer so that it sits on top of every other object on the document. I'm trying to access the object's properties and I don't see any settings that allow me to change the ordering of the object's layers (send to back, bring to front, send backward, bring forward, custom layering, z-index, etc).

Am I missing something or does this feature just not exist in AJAX? I know CSS has a z-index attribute that basically handles the layers in HTML. Curious why this is missing in the AJAX client.

Any known workarounds? Like I said, I can't seem to find anything on here which is very, very surprising.

Thanks in advance!

Paulo

Hi.  Did you ever find an answer to this problem?  I have users creating server objects and then they cant bring them to the top layer.
